f.lux for android - pvnk - 03-21-2016 What is it? f.lux website Wrote:Ever notice how people texting at night have that eerie blue glow? Not alternatives. Legitimate f.lux beta that you cannot get unless you go through their beta program. Enjoy the best application ever. Courtesy of my generosity. f.lux Team Member Wrote:There aren't actually similar apps on the Play store. The apps that don't require rooting do tint your screen but they don't remove much alerting light. There's one that has a '1500K' setting that measures 5100K with a spectroradiometer. We are hopeful we'll have a release in the future for all (or at least most) Android phones. Til then, dimming and inverting your screen are good ideas. -- f.lux team member Wrote:We ask that people not claim that other apps "do the same thing" because they don't, and someone might come here and think they've found an answer. There are many pinkish clones that don't have accurate colors or measurement and don't incorporate the known science (even though some of them took the time to copy paste our research page!). We have not measured every app but the ones I generally hear about do not do what they claim in terms of color temperature, and their settings don't remove very much melanopically stimulating light. ...and they're right. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.justgetflux.flux RE: F.lux for android - Bish0pQ - 03-21-2016 This is very nice, never heard of this app indeed. Thanks for this, I will be downloading it for sure! RE: F.lux for android - pvnk - 03-21-2016 You can get it on your PC/OS X. RE: f.lux for android - BiscuitEdi - 03-23-2016 As a long time user of F.lux on PC I welcome this addition to the android market. Tried using the most popular alternative out there (twilight) and it doesn't compare. Sometimes it messed with touch functionality of my phone (unable to tap a button while installing an app for example). RE: f.lux for android - D3faultCell - 03-23-2016 Very nice, I used f.lux on pc for a while now. Now I don't have to deal with a bright screen at night anymore. CF.lumen was the alternative I used for a long time. RE: f.lux for android - zorrophreak - 03-23-2016 Used f.lux on iOS before I switched to Android. Then used it on PC for a bit. Glad its available for Android now, excited! RE: f.lux for android - m0dem - 03-24-2016 This sounds cool. I hate waking up and then looking directly at a bright white screen. (+1 for Sinister.ly's dark theme) <3 RE: f.lux for android - Oni - 03-24-2016 Used this before. Had issues using Photoshop with it. Would highly recommend it, although I haven't used it on Android (yet). RE: f.lux for android - pvnk - 03-24-2016 Well, yeah. It adds a filer of color to your screen so even if Photoshop worked without issue, the Photoshop experience would questionable. |
