I have found that a lot of the stuff at conventions is marked up 20%, give or take. Keep in mind, the vendors at the conventions don't make a lot, and sometimes they scalp people with prices. Matsuri was pretty good, though. I don't think I saw anything I wanted marked obscenely high. Some of the vendors even offered good deals (like buy 3, get 1 free).

Sounds pretty good to me! The conventions I've been to in the past have been mixed. Some things were standard, some were pricey and some stuff (including pro-markers) I got for an amazing deal!

Some conventions are plagued with knockoff figures and other unlicensed goods. The nicer conventions tend to disallow that sort of stuff, but you never know.
