Anime Gore - Jiggly - 02-19-2016
So, I discovered my younger brother really likes Attack on Titan. I realised I know I would never have been cool to watch something so intense when I was that age and it got me thinking about the gore in the show and anime shows generally.
Attack on Titan itself almost appears to have censored gore. Where you would see guts - you see shadow. See below:

Elfen Lied gore quite clearly not realistic enough - Still loved the show

This leads me onto a question: What do you think of anime gore? Do you think it will ever have comparable effect to live action gore? I find the attack on titan series intense but easy enough to watch with it's light gore. Name some of the most truly horrific shows you've ever watched (for gore)!

I remember Shuffle! being a little gorey. I watched Elfen Lied as well.
HOTD was pretty gorey, RIN Daughters of MNEMOSYNE was pretty gorey.
I could think of a lot more but my mind is drawing a blank. As always.

Freezing was very gorey at times. The first 5 mins had peoples limbs being hacked off.

Maybe we should have genre based stream events and try some of these out.

I don't like an excessive amount of blood/gore, except maybe in combat. Black Lagoon had a tasteful amount.

I enjoyed the shows, but since I haven't gone mental, I didn't go and post a thread with a compilation of the gore highlights of the shows.

Gore is good in moderation but shows like Corpse Party has an abundance of it still loved the show though.
