E-Commerce Site what framwork + hosting? - insidious - 01-05-2016

Say i'm building an E-Commerce site that will hold over 750 Products for a client. The site needs to load at a decent pace. What framework/hosting solution should I use?

Does anyone have any recomendations? I was thinking Magento. WooCommerce would be way too slow, I think. I was also thinking something like Shopify, but he's a client and he never responds to my damn emails. Im meeting with him in the near future, but I could probably due with some advice.

Hosting? He currently uses Dreamhost for just a site that advertises his B&M. I'm afraid that this hosting will not due whatsoever for the size of the E-Commerce site he wants. He does not have the $$ to pay for a real server.

I got the gritty web design part down pat. I'm in a bit of a pickle because the guy wants me to design him an E-Commerce site with which he wants to manage transactions/business on the CMS (with my help). He has a B&M store, but he wants a seperate online one. Obviously, he wants it to load fast. I've been researching different solutions, but none seem to come out at me as the best. So i'm really just wondering what Hosting/Framework/CMS to use.

Also, he knows of my inexperience in this, and I charge a shitton less than a real webdev because of it, so no worries there (though it is stressful).

Any recs?

Hm, I'll definitely add this to the list of stuff I will show him when I come in to meet with him again. I'm basically creating a profile of a few solutions that range from technical ability. Less tech ability being ones he would be able to manage more on his own, and more tech ability being ones like Magento which basically require an active developer on hand at all times.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Went with Shopify! He loved the ease of use and useability of the interface and system, and I loved the theme development ( No PHP! Ruby Gems? Liquid Tagging? that's my jam + I get 20% of whatever he pays per month on top of what he pays me Biggrin)

I felt like posting that here, wanted to complete this thread. Because i'm bored, and that's what forums are for
