Personally what amazes me is how we've gone from a machine that filled a room and was insanely slow to a device smaller than my thumb that is infinitely more powerful than a machine that put man on the moon.

I was always interested in 2 things: The ability that a computer can calculate a huge chunk of data in seconds, the capability to calculate everything we need.
The second thing that amazes me, or what I like is that a computer can't think. It's objectively, it does what it needs to do. It doesn't care whether it's wrong or correct what it's doing. It doesn't care if there's sitting a black man, a white man behind the screen. It just does what it is told to do.

Why does this amaze you? Like I get what you're saying but why does it amaze you? Because surely it's just a machine reacting to a button?

It amazes me because computers are very complex machines nowaday. I always thought and still think that a terminator like future is certainly a possibility.

What amazes me is when I am playing a 3d game. If you just look at graphics and think of all the work that has been put into that.

They keep getting more powerful, and smaller. It baffles me.

What amazes me Is how their functionality continues to serve It's purpose.
Generally speaking, they boot up and shutdown each time as expected, perform tasks with minimal hassle (apart from bugs here and there), and continue to do so until hardware-failure gets the better of them.

another thing i just realised that amazes me is how we can adapt them to so many real world situations.

First that we have literally the entirety of documented human knowledge at our fingertips and use it to look at pictures of cats, second that I can send a packet of data across the world in a matter of seconds.

It amazes me how quickly the technology has advanced. The average individual could not tell you how pulsing electricity into some metal and plastic makes images appear on a flat surface and information travel to the other side of the planet relatively instantaneously. Of course we can learn about it etc. But it is so complex and I find it fascinating that I'm using something so clever every single day without batting an eyelid.
