Secrets of Grindea - krozy - 11-26-2015

I'd figured I would introduce one of my most favorite games of 2015 here.

What is Secrets of Grindea?
Secrets of Grindea is an old-school RPG with co-op support for up to 4 players. Essentially, SoG [Secrets of Grindea] is styled in non-isometric pixel art style. While it is "story-based", there is a ton of side activities you can do which makes this game [in my eyes] definitely worth the $15 minimum for BETA. Yes, this game is BETA but it's continuously updated and along with that, contains a satisfactory amount of progress.

"You take on the role as a young hero (or heroine) taking his or her first steps to become a famed Collector and help collect the most valuable rares in the entire kingdom. But is everything really as it seems? The hunt for rares soon turns into something bigger, a scenario where family, friendship and possibly the fate of the world rests in your hands." - Taken from http://www.secretsofgrindea.com/

Notes
  • It is in BETA. However as stated previously, it is continuously updated and has a great amount of progress already.

  • Character customization. Advanced skill trees give you precise control over how your character develops. There are no caps or specific classes, so the possibilities are endless. On top of this, there’s a wide variety of haircuts, hats and head gears that will make your character look unique as well.

  • Co-op support for up to four players! Bring your friends on the adventure, challenge them to any of the mini games in the arena or why not have them help you out in a difficult dungeon?
A lengthy and dramatic storyline will take you through dungeons and fields of all shapes in the rich and varied world of Grindea. Countless of side quests and hidden content will keep you busy for hours after finishing the game.

  • Hundreds of items to hunt, craft, fish or dig up in order to improve your character, fill the codex and gain fame.

  • A pet system that makes sure you never have to be alone, even when playing by yourself. Catch any of the cute tameable animals and have them accompany you on your adventures while also boosting your skills!

This sounds like something I'd like. I'm not really sure I'd want to join a Beta, though.

I can practically promise you that for a beta, it still feels like a full game. Even if you finish story mode, you can find hours upon hours in Arcade if you're into grinding for gear.

Any perks for playing beta?

You keep your characters from beta so that's a start. To go along with it, you also can do some cheats on a character to modify its stats/level. To put icing on the cake, some items can end up being rare (ex. Lumber Axe) because they remove it from chests or replace it with a different item.

Cheating ruins the game.

I know it does, but I'm just telling you any perks I know from the top of my head. Any other perks to pre-ordering it in BETA asides from what I listed depends on which "tier" you're buying.
