Are you concerned that these Big Corporations collect so much info about you? - Pirate - 10-16-2015

Are you concerned that basically any company can buy and sell your info with tracking?

You can block most trackers by using extensions like ghostie, and simply setting your OS systems right, but still sites can track you?

Are you ok with this?

I don't like it, but there's not much I can do. I provide the least amount of info possible whenever I can help it. Little bad shit has happened to me and I have little to hide so I suppose it's not the worst issue I face.

I hate it when people say they have little to hide.

Alright how about this.

I have NOTHING to hide, the last time I did something illegal was when I was 13 or so give or take, it was too long ago to remember my age.

>implying people only hide illegal things

To quote Snowden:

"Arguing that you don't care about the right to privacy because you have nothing to hide is no different than saying you don't care about free speech because you have nothing to say."

Don't get me wrong, I do not like any corporation to know my information, I prefer my privacy but what I'm saying is in the end there is no harm because I do not have anything to hide.

But I try to keep private either way.

The net Is just a minority.

The moment you get a driver's license, social security number, cell phone account, electricity account, rent an apartment, establish a bank account ( I could go on all night) and so forth, your details are exposed. Your Info Is only as safe as the person (at a given entity) who controls It.

A person could have all security measures In place for his cell phone number and account, but If I social engineered his cell phone carrier (claiming to be the account holder), thus update his billing address to my very own nominated address, I'd then have his details at my disposal.
