Dual Monitor Help? - Legible - 09-27-2015

My computer specifications are in my signature.

I have a VGA to DVI converter in my monitor to the graphics card. I already used the VGA port for one monitor and now I am trying to get the other monitor to work using the converter (to no avail).

These are both going into the graphics card.
The monitors I have a are:
1. Acer AL1716 (MAIN)
2. Dell E1910H (SECOND) (Also I have tried this one separately and it works by itself with a VGA cable)

Lets see if I understood this correctly, you have a VGA and DVI port in your graphics card and you want to use a DVI to VGA converter for your second monitor, but its not working?

First boot to Windows 7 and hold down the WINDOWS key (the flag) and press P at the same time. A menu should pop up and you want to select "extend" while both monitors are plugged in. If this did not solve the problem:

1) Try using the open VGA slot on your graphics card and see if it works on both monitors
If that works go to 2; else skip to 2b:
2) Try using the DVI to VGA plug on your main monitor - If this did not solve your problem, unplug the VGA cable and try using the DVI to VGA cable alone on both monitors.
2b) The second monitor may be faulty. See if you have another monitor or television screen and try using that instead - if that still does not work, you may have a broken DVI "slot" on your graphics card and unless it has a valid warranty you're screwed. (If its made by XFX it should have a limited lifetime warranty).

Also, I don't believe I'm familiar with a R5 780. You sure you don't mean AMD 78XX, GTX 780 (doubtful due to VGA being a outdated standard) or something along those lines?

It didn't work (on both monitors)... Both of my monitors are VGA but I obviously don't have two VGA slots on my graphics card. It's just telling me that I need I have "No Signal" on the other monitor it detects that I have a VGA cable.

I hate writing, so here is a simpler version of what I wrote above.

That link still does not mention anything about the R5 780 which I'm still close to 99% sure does not exist. Try using a program like Speccy or run a DXDIAG.

AMD Radeon R5 230 is it. Thanks for the drawing by way that was awesome. I think it might be teh converter but I will check the graphics card. Thanks a lot!

I have a dual monitor and I just plug one VGA into the Mobo and the other into the GFX , works perfectly fine for me!

Given the OP has been banned, logic has It to postpone further posting until the ban Is lifted. That's If It's lifted.

There's no purpose suggesting, when a reply cannot be received.
