Update on my RX7 - ねこまっしぐら - 09-22-2015

The apex seals went bad and the LSD kinda turned into an open diff for some reason. Some other stuff happened to but those are the highlights. I JB welded the seals and diff and sold the car. I drive a MX5 now.

I don't like rotary engines but I would of just replaced the seals.

As for the differential use steel plate and weld it just make sure you clean the surface and get a good weld done because the end results of a poor weld aren't worth it.

Don't tell me you bought the MX5 because of haggard garage.

I like rotary engines but I don't like working on them. I bought an MX5 before the Haggard Garage hype but I bought it because of the same reason they did. Cheapest RWD car around. I just want my RX7 back because this Miata sucks.

I was wondering myself why you'd downgrade from an RX7 to a MX5. Doesn't make sense to me.

Miata's are not track worthy unless you put a few grand into them. They are under powered and only have around 140hp and probably 115 to the wheels the handling is sloppy in my opinion.

But they are solid cars and are a good base assuming you don't follow what haggard garage does.

I thought that it was going to be better because it is a bit newer and doesn't have a rotary engine but like people are saying, it's underpowered. I was able to do second gear scratches so hard in the rx7 but that doesn't happen in the miata.
