Candidate Under Fire For Playing WoW - Edward - 10-07-2012

Quote: LITTLETON, New Hampshire (Reuters) - A Maine Senate race has turned into a fight over trolls, dwarves and goblin-like creatures known as orcs.

In a mailing this week, state Republicans accused Democrat Colleen Lachowicz of living in a fantasy world and making "crude, vicious and violent comments" in online forums dedicated to World of Warcraft, a popular online game.

Lachowicz, who is challenging incumbent Senator Tom Martin, has responded by accusing Republicans of focusing on her hobbies rather than public policy issues.

Republican candidates appear to be bashing her because she plays World of Warcraft.
Pretty pathetic way of doing politics, but I think it will get her more support from gamers.

What do you guys think?

Pretty sad, and I guess this is the mainstream, If I tell anyone around me at school for example: They'll call me 'nerd' or that I don't have a life. People judge way too fast...

Yeah, this is a joke. A big joke. I think that's pathetic. Just goes to show though, politics is a blood bath.

In politics, there's no such thing as a real person. They expect you to be flawless.

While I don't think she would make a good candidate, I'll say there's nothing wrong with playing WoW, and you certainly shouldn't demean someone for doing it.

Hey can hate on someone when they get mad at the game and go on an all caps rage lol

It shouldn't matter what her hobbies are, but if she is indeed posting inappropriate things on a forum, she should expect to be criticized. Being a politician comes with a lot of responsibility.

She hasn't done anything worse than Obama has. The fact that she is secure enough in her hobby to admit that she plays MMO's at her age should be enough to say that maybe she can be trustred.
