Are RSPS Dying/Dead? - Exkr - 08-25-2015 I have been, somewhat following the scene for a few years but I have never really got into it. I use to play a lot when I was younger, around 2005/2006 but now it has changed so much I would rather play the older version. Is the scene still around or is it dead? No, i do not believe that it is dead, but i do believe that i recently seen that soulsplit (a very very large rsps) got taken down, and i was honestly suprised, but for the servers that die there will be more runescape private servers. private servers come in a wide veriation of the game itself, rsps's are capable of being different revisions so for the people that do not like the newer versions of runescape or oldschool there will only be runescape private servers to fill there need for the revision they want, there is also big private-server communitys such as rune-server, and mopar. edit: a photo from the past XD ![]() RE: Are RSPS Dying/Dead? - Exkr - 08-25-2015 Yeah, I heard that SoulSplit was closed, but aren't they creating their own game anyway? It's good to see that Mopar is still around, but I don't know how to code Java so it will take a long time for me to actually create a server. Jagex shut both of them down, I believe. Honestly, OP, the RSPS scene was only popular because RSPS communities(such as RSWebclients, RSPSCoding and Rune-server) existed/still exist. RSPS have been dead for a long time and the only RSPS out at the moment are the noob ones which just leech code from rune-server topics. If you're able to properly code Java and whatnot, and have the funding to purchase servers, domains, and staff such as web developers and coders and pay for advertisement, you could start a large-scale project. Thanks, I ran an RSPS back in the days on RSW w/ 50 daily players. Had to shut it down because partner stole the donations and funding. I mean, I could still pay for it but the money would be coming directly from my pocket and RSPS take quite a lot to pay for. I would like to learn Java to create a decent server, but it is easier if someone is doing it with you, if anyone is interested? I still have an account on RuneScape from 2005 and it has an easter ring, and that was around the last time I played it properly. I think I just need to study Java and get a blank source and client and go from there. RE: Are RSPS Dying/Dead? - Bitcoin - 08-25-2015 (08-25-2015, 08:53 PM)Yck Wrote: I only know PHP, well barely. PHP is only going to benefit you on the website and not the actual game. When I was a skrublet and only knew partial Java, I looked at topics on plugins and whatnot for 317s and popular sources/blank sources to know how most of it works. I then learnt Java and combined both of them together. I think that process would be best for you, I wish you the best of luck! |
