Stay away from Sceptre TV's - Earth - 08-09-2015

I am just popping around today on Sinisterly to post a little bit anyways I thought I would warn people to stay away from Sceptre TV's.

I know Sceptre TV's are in the budget class and are very affordable for us low budget people however they are pure junk.

I bought a Sceptre 32" TV for my father and it was good at first but then about 8 months after owning it the LED strip went out so I sent it out under warranty and it was fixed for free shipping was covered.

I got it back he set it up again and it was working fine and now only 4 months after having it back there is a red stripe going down the center of the TV at first there was only 1 now there is 2 so which leads me to believe the LED strip is failing yet again.

It is just too much of a hassle and not worth sending it off again so I will be replacing it with a Toshiba since I have never had issues with Toshiba TV's.

Honestly I would rather buy a 1950s Magnavox TV then deal with the junk that is put out today for the budget class.

It seems like a shady business that sell product's at a cheap price so they get lots of people to purchase their product's and then it turns out it was a rip off. I've had personal experience with this sort of thing before. It's BS so, I feel for you mate.

You get what you pay for. Budget screens means budget parts and budget labour. Probably a import product as well.

Not so much if it being a "rip-off" as it is cheaply made to be sold cheap.

There are other companies that offer budget televisions around the same price as Scepter yet they don't seem to have problems within the first year of use.

My Toshiba was under $200 at the time I got it as it was on discount, now the TV is discontinued with newer models this TV is going on 2 years of use and has not had 1 single problem.

I actually got a firmware update to do on my TV I haven't got around to it.

Toshiba is not really a budget brand because of the MSRP of the product being like $300+ but being that I got it at budget price its damn good.

I know people with other Walmart TV brands other then Sceptre such as Emerson and they have been going strong for over a year.

Higher price does not mean better quality always so no hate from me towards other budget brands but Sceptre is on my hell no list.

Are there many non-import consumer electronics?

Honestly there is not much all American made electronics out there. Even electronics "Made in USA" have Chinese or even Taiwan parts in it.

And all of the major electronic TV brands are made in different countries.

Samsung = India
LG = South Korea
Panasonic = Japan
Sony = Japan, Mexico & China
Toshiba USA = Taiwan

In the end it really comes down to how professional the factory these parts/electronics are made in are. Also how much electronic companies are willing to pay these factories and if they do there designs correctly.

I'd go with any of those companies. I'd prefer LG or Samsung.
