Was this guy in the right or wrong? - Jessie Andrews - 04-28-2013 So, it was lunch time and my boss picked a nice bar and grille to go to. Sort of "upper class" if you feel me. I only tell you this so you'll understand that there's no children's menu. This isn't a place to take your children. Anyways, after a cocktail and a sandwich I went to use the restroom and I hear this kid humming in the stall next to the urinal. I didn't think anything of it. I finish up and wash my hands. When I turn around, a small child 3 maybe 4 is standing behind me. As soon as he makes eye contact with me he chirped "Help! HELP! A LITTLE HELP! MY ZIPPER! HELP!" He's pointing and I look and see that his fly is down. So, I'm like "What's the problem, buddy?" He repeats "I need help!" and attempts to zip his fly up, but fails at it. It's then I realize that either the zipper is stuck or he doesn't know how to zip himself up. Either way, I'm not helping him as the last thing I need or want is a stranger (or worse, my boss) walking in the bathroom on my zipping up the fly on a toddler I've no relation to. So, I'm like "Did you come here with your Mommy and Daddy?" he nodded his head and went "Daddy!" so, I was like "Do you know your Daddy's name?" This was met with a blank stare. I said "Okay, what about your last name? Do you know your last name?" - this was met with another blank stare. So, I narrowed it down. "What about your name? What's your name?" "Skyler!" So, I rolled my eyes and was like "Alright, big guy. Wash your hands and we'll go find your Dad." He did and I took him by the hand and walked him into the dining area until he found his father. This suited up douchebag with some sleazy looking cake face gets up and is like "What's the problem?" I walked up to him so I wouldn't have to yell it across the bar area and I was just like "He was in the bathroom and he needs help with his zipper." "What? What do you mean?" "Sir, I'm really not too sure. Either it's stuck or he can't close it. Either way, he needs your help." So, he goes "Well, couldn't you have like...I don't know, brought this attention to me in a more private manner?" Instead of saying "No, because your kid is a dumb shit that doesn't know your name or his last name" I decided to take the polite and tactful route and say "I apologize for that. Unfortunately, he seems a bit shy, so I couldn't get your name out of him or else I would have. Really, pardon my intrusion." I bow politely and use this window to slip away so he could take care of his kid. Before I even took two steps, this classless dolt is like "Hey, buddy - wait a second." I turn around. "Let's be real here. What the fuck? Where do you get off?" "I beg your pardon?" "What are you? The parenting police? Do you take every kid you see by the hand? Do you have any idea how weird that looks?" I admit it, that galled me. I took a breath and our exchange went a little something like this : "That's your son, right?" "Yeah." "He's standing by you, right now - your son, your child, right?" "So what?" "Then think about what you're saying." That seemed to trip him up so, I turned to make my exit a final time. Instead, he's like "There's a such thing as etiquette, hot shot." I took another deep breath, turned around and walked right up to him so I was two inches away from his face. I made it my goal to make him strike me. I look at him and hissed as quietly as I could "You take your son to a place that doesn't even serve children, so you could wine and dine some dumb slut and let him wander into an adult bathroom by himself? And you - you, motherfucker want to lecture me about etiquette? Do you have anything else you'd like to say?" Instead of slugging me, like I hoped he would, he picked his kid up and carried him back to their table, quiet as a fucking dormouse. My boss, while agreeing with me, still made fun of me the whole way back to work. RE: Was this guy in the right or wrong? - Preside - 04-28-2013 This wasn't you, was it? Because the last story I heard from you was that you were in high school or JH. Either way, the guy with the son was definitely in the wrong! RE: Was this guy in the right or wrong? - Slim - 04-28-2013 He was definitely in the wrong, I would never take my son to a bar or even leave him to go into a public bathroom himself. RE: Was this guy in the right or wrong? - Sunlight - 04-28-2013 OR a cool person. The kid's dad was definetly wrong to talk like that. RE: Was this guy in the right or wrong? - Google - 04-28-2013 I dunno which guy you mean. RE: Was this guy in the right or wrong? - Ruskin - 04-28-2013 The kids dad was in the wrong, the man that brought him to him is in the right. At least according to my principles. I couldn't answer the poll because I didn't know which person it is asking for, I would assume the man who helped however. RE: Was this guy in the right or wrong? - Jessie Andrews - 04-28-2013 I'm actually talking about the guy who wrote the story, but that's okay. RE: Was this guy in the right or wrong? - Sunlight - 04-28-2013 Oh, the guy was right to do that. RE: Was this guy in the right or wrong? - Feat - 04-30-2013 He shouldn't have brought his son into a bar, thats #1. 2, he's in the wrong, and I'm glad you shut him up. RE: Was this guy in the right or wrong? - Sunlight - 04-30-2013 Where was this found ? I would like to see the results on other sites as well. The guys shouldn't have brought his kid into a fucking bar and let him roam around without an adult. |
