Bioshock. Holy fuck. Probably one of my favorite games to date, with everything from the unique implementation of plasmids to the ammo conservation to the machine hacking to everything else.
What makes Bioshock so interesting to me is the story. Don't get me wrong, the gameplay rocks, but the amount of background 2K put into Rapture through journals and the depth of character development, from Malcom Ryan to Atlas. Another big thing for me was the twist of the ending.

the whole suicide bomber/trigger word thing blew me out of the water (pun intended)
Talking about graphics, I love steampunk and art deco. The fact that someone came up with the idea to combine that with atlantis was just too freaking cool. If you liked the art as much as I did, you can find a huge collection of the concepts and some bonuses @ Bioshock's steam store page.
If you haven't yet played this game (or the entire series), it's worth the $60 on Steam for the complete pack; you're missing out.

I loved Bioshock 1 and even have fond memories of 2.
Infinite was an ok game to me, but I didn't like it at all compared to the first games.

I haven't played the first two Bioshocks, but Bioshock Infinite blew me out of the water with the story. It has a great mixture of gameplay and a good story line, which ultimately wins it for me. Furthermore, the graphics are just an icing on the top.
