Reading Material - BlueJay - 01-18-2015 Does anyone here know the best books to get for hacking? I would like to know the best for beginners to expert knowledge books. RE: Reading Material - EXiLE - 01-18-2015 To my knowledge, there are no books that tell you directly how to hack. However, scattered around the internet are several thousands of books that can teach you coding/programming languages. if I can find some, I'll drop the links in an edit but until then, happy searching! RE: Reading Material - roger_smith - 01-18-2015 There's a metric ton of books out there about the topic. Google "hacking books" and you'll likely see them. http://www.hackingexposed.com/ http://www.amazon.com/Hacking-Ethical-Hackers-Handbook-Edition/dp/0071742557 http://www.amazon.com/The-Web-Application-Hackers-Handbook/dp/1118026470 http://www.amazon.com/Certified-Ethical-Hacker-Bundle-Second/dp/0071835571/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1421556256&sr=1-1&keywords=CEH http://www.amazon.com/Hacking-The-Art-Exploitation-Edition/dp/1593271441 There's a few to look at. I've personally read parts of they grey hat hacking handbook, The web application hackers handbook. I've completely read the CEH guide, and a few others. One interesting book is a novel/guide combo called "Dissecting the Hack: The F0rb1dd3n Network" http://www.amazon.com/Dissecting-Hack-F0rb1dd3n-Network-Revised/dp/1597495689 That book is a fun read, as the story is actually interesting, and the analysis in the second half is very good too. That should get you started. That web application hackers handbook is something like 1000 pages. While a book would not market itself as a hacking tutorial in the sense that you would be cracking into unauthorized systems, there are many books that are marketed as "introductions to penetration testing" such as: The Hacker Playbook RE: Reading Material - BlueJay - 01-29-2015 Thanks for the help, I will start looking for those type of books. RE: Reading Material - Edward - 01-29-2015 I recommend reading from forums and tutorials. Unless you want books on programming, which are great. There aren't very many books that will teach you to "hack" in a modern setting. |
