what else could be done in backtrack 5 than hacking wifi? - greybat163 - 05-05-2014 I don't have any wireless wifi connection network which can be used for hacking via BT5 (any ways just tell me what are the things one could do with backtrack 5 than using it for wifi hacking?) RE: what else could be done in backtrack 5 than hacking wifi? - The Real Slim Shady - 05-05-2014 anything you want? Its an operating system. If it can be done on a computer, it can be done on Backtrack RE: what else could be done in backtrack 5 than hacking wifi? - ralf93 - 05-05-2014 You can hack any account you want ![]() but that requires some skills. though you'd see many backtrack 5 tutorials on this forum, you can try them. Just play with it, explore new things, master them, create tools... anything you want
RE: what else could be done in backtrack 5 than hacking wifi? - Ligeti - 05-05-2014 You can play games, check your emails, watch movies, listen to music, program apps, you can even turn it off and leave it that way, the same thing I did to Windows 40 years ago... which is weird because I am 35 and Windows didn't exist 40 years ago! (this could only happen in HC) Seriously... I don't think that you are even the least close to be ready to explore "pentesting" side of BT5/Kali Please don't take this personally (or argue) Thanks and good luck Sigh! RE: what else could be done in backtrack 5 than hacking wifi? - chmod - 05-05-2014 (05-05-2014, 11:08 PM)Ligeti Wrote: You can play games, check your emails, watch movies, listen to music, program apps, you can even turn it off and leave it that way, the same thing I did for Windows 40 years ago... which is weird because I am 35 and Windows didn't exist 40 years ago! RE: what else could be done in backtrack 5 than hacking wifi? - alok9shm - 05-06-2014 Quote:Backtrack : Giving machine guns to monkeys since 2006 No, do not take it as an insult. This is a quote that almost everyone knows over here. Its like having a toolbox full of tools, you can do a lot of things with the tool included. Each tool serves a purpose. You need to check out every tool one by one. Start exploring. :Thumbs-Up: RE: what else could be done in backtrack 5 than hacking wifi? - Ligeti - 05-06-2014 @chmod you know about the time machine? 0_o Anyway, I even asked this question once in the IRC channel (#kali-linux): "Why use Kali and not Debian?", answer was ... because of the menu The argument was not as simple as it sounds, and I said it before... "The only reason I use BT5/Kali is because I like the logo (the dragon)", sounds stupid, but ... if you think about this closely you may see that I am right! There is nothing that proves that Kali can pentest better than Debian, Ubuntu, Mint, ArchLinux, Fedora... etc. (even Windows!!!) Thanks RE: what else could be done in backtrack 5 than hacking wifi? - chmod - 05-06-2014 (05-06-2014, 08:37 AM)Ligeti Wrote: @chmod you know about the time machine? 0_o Exactly, other than the dragons and other "cool" aesthetics I think convenience plays a but part. It takes a long time to install and configure a pentesting platform, so if someone else has done all the work for you why not use it. I hate Ubuntu because I think it is so... celebrity (over rated)! I don't know how to explain it... I also use Mint on my personal computer (mini-laptop), I also use Dynebolic (for multi-media and composing music) I hate to ask people about what I should use (when it comes to OS), I think that all distributions are good one way or another, but one may consider this: ![]() Peace
