Obama's "Regime" Defends its phone record collections of US Citizens - The Lonely Hacker - 06-06-2013 So, here we are guys, just a little nudge forward until its George Orwell's 1984 all over again. The administration defends itself well when it comes to phone collections, but what about Benghazi, Fast and Furious and just recently the IRS targeting of political groups. Oh well, let me not say more before I get a drone attack on where I live. ![]() http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/06/06/us-usa-wiretaps-verizon-idUSBRE95502920130606 Phone services watched by "Big Brother" include Sprint, Nexus, T-Mobile and a few others. ***UPDATE*** Additionally the NSA has been officially found to spy on Americans' digital footprints from major companies like Google, Yahoo, Hotmail, YouTube, Skype, Facebook and others. I wonder if in a decade, I would be able to take a dump without Big Brother watching me...lol funny but at the same time....hmmmm *thinking* http://www.nytimes.com/2013/06/07/us/nsa-verizon-calls.html?_r=0 and other news articles around the web. RE: Obama's "Regime" Defends its phone record collections of US Citizens - w00t - 06-06-2013 Why do all Americans seem to think their president is somehow super powerful and controls all things government related? First, not all Americans. I could make a very similar generalized statement saying "why do all foreigners think all American believe that their President is somehow all powerful...." Secondly, he first rejects the bill and wanted to move against it, especially after that " war on terrorism is over" statement from him and his administration. But now he supports it and might even (by his inferences) want to extend it after its expiration (I believe) in 2015. (06-06-2013, 10:26 PM)Customer Wrote: Thanks for the update, Lonely. Yeah, he can veto a law, but then Congress can vote on it again to pass it without his signature.
