Introduction and questions - GreatCyber - 04-16-2014

Hey guys, GreatCyber here. I'm a n00b, 16 and I'm from England. As I'm always quite paranoid about my privacy I'll just leave it there for now.

Anyway I have some questions about hacking for everybody (If you wanna answer):
-A few days ago, Anonymous launched an operation on pro-Israeli websites and shut them down. Would you class that as ethical hacking?

-Is there a way where I can make secure Skype calls without being listened to by other hackers?

-I wanna start a hacking crew/team for when I do big things so if anyone wants to join send me a message.

That's all. Thanks

Hey there, @GreatCyber!
Welcome to HackCommunity.
Please read the rules when you have a chance:
http://www.hackcommunity.com/rules.php (thanks in advance!)

Now on to your questions...

Question #1:
"A few days ago, Anonymous launched an operation on pro-Israeli websites and shut them down. Would you class that as ethical hacking?"

Answer: Are you by chance talking about any of the ops AnonGhost, and their "allies", launched? If so, by no means would I consider that ethical hacking. It's all illegal and most of the hackers don't even know what they're attacking or for what cause.

On another note, remember that as cool as things like this look at first, it isn't really all that cool. Unethical hackers are losers. What did these guys really accomplish by hacking 2000 Israeli websites? *cough* (the answer is nothing!) *cough*

--------------------------------------------------

Question #2:
Is there a way where I can make secure Skype calls without being listened to by other hackers?

Answer: Do you think it's really as easy as "1, 2, 3" to hack Skype? If you or your friend don't have any bad malware or RATs on your computers then you should pretty much be good.

--------------------------------------------------

Question #3: I wanna start a hacking crew/team for when I do big things so if anyone wants to join send me a message.

Answer: Big things? What are you doing?.. Hacking The Gibson? I'm just going to go ahead and assume that you want to start a crew so you have a name to put on websites for when you, and your friends, deface them. If that's the case then don't start a crew at all. All you'll be doing is using the same LFI/RFI exploits and Google dorks over and over again. There's nothing good or fun about that. It's pretty boring and immature if you ask me.

--------------------------------------------------

Well, I hope that helped. If you have any further questions just shoot me a message or reply to this post. Biggrin
See you around!

Absolutely not. Its called hactivism and its no more legal or ethical than blowing up an oil pipeline. Interfering with someone simply because you dont agree with their view or business practice is not ethical. It might be morally right, but not legally right. And thats what we generally refer to as ethical hacking.

Starting a crew is the best way to get caught in the long run if you plan on breaking the law. And quite frankly noobs that start groups - Just asking for trouble.

Thanks for the answers to my questions.
First of all, I would never want to deface innocent websites or exploit them in any way. I have morals and I think it's wrong to destroy something that someone may make a living out of or something like that.
But what I do want to deface is SCAM wholesale websites. I know of so many websites who have scammed thousands of dollars/pounds/euros out of so many well intentioned and innocent people who wanted to make a living out of it.

You are free to criticize what I just said but that is one thing I will always stand by. Cyber criminals who steal money from people deserve to be shut down.

Thanks
