i didnt found a proper section so i posted it here !!
i need some1 to confirm that this is true and if its false pls correct me !!

direct cable are used to connect :
  • pc to hub
  • pc to switch
  • switch to router

cross-over cable are used to connect :
  • switch to switch
  • hub to hub
  • router to router
  • pc to pc
  • hub to switch
  • pc to router

Historically, yes, connecting 2 devices of the same type required a cross over cable.

However Auto-MDIX has been around for years and all modern networking devices will autodetect the required configuration and respond accordingly as far as i know, so a standard straight through cable will work as well.

yah i know that nowadays you can use both it doesn't matter !!
but thx or confirming how it used to work b4 !!
