Block Skype Resolvers - Oni - 05-26-2013

As many know, Skype IP resolving is a rather big issue and has been for a while. Not long ago a beta was released with the option to "allow direct connections to your contacts only." This will prevent Skype resolvers from getting your IP address and hopefully prevent potential attackers from slowing down or stopping your internet connection. Note that the beta may not be available for Linux yet.

How To

1. Get the new Skype beta: http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-beta
2. Install it, as you normally would. It should update Skype if you already have it.
3. Go to "Tools" and then "Options..."
4. Under the "Advanced" section, go to "Connection" and toggle the new setting.

Thanks for the tutorial, I haven't had a problem with DDoS before but, it's sure to come in handy.

Slander is not defined as unable to prove a truth. It's maliciously under no context of possibility spreading a lie.

LOL'D, nice tutorial Der Anarchist, now people don't have to use proxies or VPNs and stuff haha.

A proxy or a VPN will do the job.

Well that works for everyone, but is there a way for me without updating or using a VPN?
