Dreamspark - get Free Development Softwares like Visual Studio Pro For free - §herlock - 05-17-2013
Introduction-
DreamSpark is a Microsoft program to provide students with software design and development tools at no charge. The program was originally available for university/college students in Belarus, Belgium, China, Finland, France, Germany, India, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia, the U.K. and the U.S., but has now been expanded to more than 80 countries and is offered to many high school students. To register, students must visit the DreamSpark website and verify their identity. If an institution is not listed on the available list, the user may manually verify their student status by uploading a proof such as an ID card. I did that way and now i have access to all softwares available there.

Visual Studio Pro 2010 - No License Required.
Visual Studio Pro 2012 - No License Required.
Windows Server 2008(All Versions) - Licensed.
Windows Server 2012(Standard and Datacenter) - Licensed.

Thanks for this, knew I could get Visual Studio, but never knew about this whole separate site
I want to start developing for Windows 8. But I'm running Windows 7 so I cannot test, and due to me only being in a secondary school and not university, they will not provide me with Windows 8

Then download a copy yourself? I downloaded Windows about a month before it was "officially released.," and I've had it since. I'm only in 12th grade now.
@Sherlock, can it be any ID or does it have to be a school ID?

You can Download a copy of Windows 8 ISO from internet and can install either on your machine or on VMware.

Any School/College ID.
I sent my university Hall ticket for verification and it got verified.
Since, the program is for students, so you can use any Student ID.
