Computer/I.T.Retail Sales - The Real Slim Shady - 09-03-2013

So... i have a job interview for a retail sales position and while im pretty technically sound, i have no real experience in retail sales.

So basically im wondering what type of tech knowledge would be expected? Ie im wondering if all my knowledge is useless if i like, dont know what processor the latest sony is running... or... ya...

What tech knowledge would be expected of a technical sales person in a compyter shop lol.

Well, if it's anything like most other shops they will typically have a catalog listing the specs of each item.
Also virtually the only thing you'll need to know/learn about their equipment is what is best suited for gaming, what's best suited for just office work and so on.

If the job position is in best buy all you need to know is how to turn on a computer -_- .

lol no its not bestbuy, but it is a large retail chain. To my knowledge they are a franchise based business so each store has its own owners.

but while turning on a computer may be all thats required... im sorta thinking of brushing up on current standards and stuff. eg wireless n and cat6 is still current, right? haha
