What i would like to know is, what are the most common things i should know/learn when it comes to hacking software, games or personal device

Learning takes years. no simple website or book will teach you all you need to know. There's so many things to learn, a part of learning is to do your own research. find a topic you're interested in and learn it. That might spark another interesting topic, and so on.

That's a rather specific question for that I changed your title so others might find it too.
For hacking software and games you need to learn reverse engineering and before you can do that you have to learn assembly.
Assembly books:
Art of Assembly
PC Assembly Language
Win32 ASM Tutorial
Look at this website for reverse engineering tutorials: http://thelegendofrandom.com/blog/sample-page
For device hacking: I don't know. Search for it. It probably depends on the device and what you want to do exactly. I am not a hardware person, though.
