So this is what we did yesterday... - The Real Slim Shady - 02-28-2013 No insurance so it was a complete write-off I was in the passenger seat, but that was the best seat as you can see. I got the worst of it lol. Thankfully my partner and I walked away without so much as a scratch. Unfortunately it was in the middle of fucking nowhere haha. Still need to find a way to tow it about 300km to the nearest wrecker haha. So thats why im online. in town looking to buy a new car. RE: So this is what we did yesterday... - The Real Slim Shady - 02-28-2013 nope, not drinking whatsoever. my partner is an experienced driver (more than I actually) but not so much on the dirt roads. neither of us are but i have experience driving in the Canadian winters. i know not to brake during a spin like that. to many people braking is the first thought. I was in the exact situation a couple months ago, in the same car, loose dirt around the bend, travelling at 120kph on a dirt road. i managed to control and stop the car safely. my partner was doing no more than 80kph and she flipped it as you can see haha. so its just a matter of experience. We had driven 50 km on this road without much hint of a problem. her first instinct was to brake unfortunately. I had explained to her in the past the braking is bad in a spin, but having never been in a spin like that while driving... well, ya. it was a learning experience. She'll do the asphalt driving cause of cops, but ill usually get behind the wheel on the dirt. Only reason we didnt switch was because we were following someone and a little behind... too lazy to stop and switch haha.
