but
now i am kind of regretting it...people say you can do so much more with a 200$ pc

I wonder the same thing. I operate on mac too, and it seems almost everything is programed for linux or pc.

Since MacOS is pretty new and not considered as a hacking OS, it'll most likely have few to none applications for hacking. I don't know any programs for that cause. Good luck finding them, OP.

Ah, yes. I have a MacBook Air, and It's on OS X, but I just dual-boot to Ubuntu (well I used to).

As perplexed stated your best bet would be to duel boot a linux distro as you're using a mac and it's unix based it shouldn't be too much of an adjustment for you

As long as it's java based, yes you can as far as I know.

There are also numerous other hacking tools that are already ported to run on OS X

Nmap has supported Mac OS X since 2001, Wireshark, Ettercap, Firesheep, Kismac to name a few.
