Hardisk Not Detecting after Improper Shutdown. - Frosty - 01-27-2013 Hello Mates,I Think some of my friends remember me.I Went 6 Months Ago. Because my Pc was troubling. My Motherboard Ram and Power supply got fucked up because of improper shutdown due to direct electric switching off by our electric supply company. So now i bought a bare bone its Hp 7700. the same processor of mine Core2Duo E6300 1.8GHZ 2 Mb Cache. the same Gpu GIGABYTE GT440 GDDR5 i replaced combo and bought a super combo with lightscribe. because of low budget i bought 2gb ram instead of 4gb its DDR II. PSU Is the Hp's one.365W Working fine i don't need to replace. the samp 250Gb WD Sata Hardrive. now the problem is. Whenever suddenly electric gets powered off without being informed and computer gets shutdown improperly. when the electric comes back.i switch on the pc.and after Hp Logo it says "NON-SYSTEM DISK OR DISK ERROR, REPLACE AND STRIKE KEY WHEN READY" then i restart it goto bios there is no hardrive detected only my Super combo drive. then i turn of the computer from its button. again turn it on then it detects it. now what today happened is. I was working on pc suddenly power got switched off. again it was shut down improperly. when power came back i opened so it didn't detected the HDD then i turned of the pc and again opened it didn't detect. i changed the sata cables replaced the power cable off HDD. nothing happened. and after opening pc when i touch the HDD.nothing i feel. just a "churr churr churr" feeling after 3 or 4 seconds. but i turned off and turned on again and again i think 5th time it detected it. But why its happening? Please Someone Help Me before it happens again :headbash: RE: Hardisk Not Detecting after Improper Shutdown. - Coder-san - 01-27-2013 Try a different SATA port, not just another cable. Or try another HDD if you can arrange one. HDD making sounds is never a good sign. RE: Hardisk Not Detecting after Improper Shutdown. - chmod - 01-27-2013 Sounds to me like your HDD is on it's way out. As coder-San says it might be time to invest in a new one while you can still extract the data from this one RE: Hardisk Not Detecting after Improper Shutdown. - Frosty - 01-27-2013 uhh really i don't have budget to buy another one. and i changed the port too but nothing happened RE: Hardisk Not Detecting after Improper Shutdown. - Ex094 - 01-27-2013 Always have your PC switched with either a Power backup or a Stabilizer BTW That sound that you describe 100% means your HDD is faulty, Coder-San is rite.... BTW you can try the old Freezer trick. I had a bad external HDD used that trick and got the HDD running for 50minutes enough to get all me data out. Just wrap a thin cloth around your hdd and put it in the freezer for approx. 2 hour, If you are lucky it will run long enough for you to take out the data that you want! Good Luck! RE: Hardisk Not Detecting after Improper Shutdown. - Frosty - 01-27-2013 Thank you for your support guys. I dont have budget to buy another hardrive. so till then i will care of existing HDD Thanks Alot |
