Anti-virus problem - Roxy_30 - 11-08-2012 So i admit to having skidd tools along with other tools that recognize as false positives. I use avast and have exclusions set . But when AV program is running nd doing auto scans it will regardless scan nd erase? Any abswers very concerned not having AV running any suggestions RE: Anti-virus problem - CursingYourLuck - 11-09-2012 Its probably just scanning the false positives. No worries unless your computer starts to slow down a bit or you just know somethings different in the way your computer is working. RE: Anti-virus problem - kruelmind - 11-09-2012 Depending on where you get your tools, they could easily be true positives. Just keep that in mind. If you are truly worried about it, run them on a separate machine, virtual machine, or both. Also, in the interest of saving you money - just stick with malwarebytes and do a scan if you get into something sketchy. As long as you're careful while surfing you shouldn't get anything. edit: Additionally, you should always keep things that are important to you backed up, antivirus or not. If you can afford to have a backup of the entire image of your hard drive then you'll save yourself a lot of time in the event that you do get a nasty virus (something like that would most likely get by your antivirus anyway) |
