Intro - tesaenigma - 04-21-2012 Hello "hackcommunity" I'm just here to learn and am not a hacker by any means, but that's why I'm here, to learn. I'm mostly interested in anonymity and good ways to secure ones computer and network. Topics I'm interested in and looking into include keylogger software for Mac, and packet sniffing for now. I won't be posting much because I'm here more to listen and read than to speak. I'm also guessing that not everyone here is a choirboy either, so naturally there is a hesitance to participate. Plus I don't want to make a fool of myself, lol. But I have to learn a lot and this seemed like a good place to learn, and maybe even make some friends. I feel like a might have a few trackers on my trail which has simultaneously pissed me off, made me feel threatened in some ways, etc. My use of the word "feel" is a good example of how much I need to learn. I'm also interested in the future of the internet. I dread some lock down where there's no privacy from the government. But I also don't want an environment where I get hijacked by renegade hackers either. There's obviously a need for some kind of middle ground. There are a lot of things that I'm experiencing online that I don't know what to make of. Sometimes I use youtube, either to learn or to entertain. Sometimes the video is from Hong Kong, sometimes from Tel Aviv, and then sometimes it's "unknown" I have a lot of tools on my browsers and am trying to learn how to use them, spending most of the time collecting "neat" add-ons and such but never really learning the fundamentals, is like picking up a piece of a puzzle which tells you to go to this piece of the puzzle, which then again tells you to go this piece of the puzzle, in the end you find yourself saying, "what was I doing again". So there's a real need to focus on the fundamental for now, which means I won't be posting much here until I've grasped a few things. I'm not trying to waste any ones time, and am beginning to understand why "hackers" and computer geeks in general can be somewhat cynical folks. Glad to be here though and looking forward to bright future of cynicism and bitterness as I plunge into the abysmal mess of the internet, and learn more about how fucked we are, yippeee!!!!! Anyone see the new "Anontunes" site? Nothing to write home about yet, but it's an interesting development imo. RE: Intro - mikahlamka - 04-21-2012 Wow.. what a long intro there..
