Safe Mode Boot - Believe - 02-19-2013 So I come to you in need of help. I am currently facing the biggest problem and I am yet to be able to fix it. Recently, my GFX card blew and I had to remove it from my PC. After doing so, when I booted my PC, everything would work perfectly fine (BIOS shows and MOBO logo etc) but as soon as Windows kicks in, the screen goes black. The only way I have been able to get around this is to boot my PC in safe mode, but this is rather annoying. So I was wondering if there was any possible solutions to getting my PC to boot up normally. I'd greatly appreciate any possible solutions and will gladly try it out. I am very hesitant to format my harddrive and reinstall windows however. So I'd much prefer solutions other than that. RE: Safe Mode Boot - Charon - 02-19-2013 Do you have an onboard GPU? Because it's quite obviously you don't see anything if you don't have your GPU installed. RE: Safe Mode Boot - Believe - 02-19-2013 How do I find out if I have an onboard GFX card or not? If that's the issue then I think you don't have an onboard GPU, because you won't see really anything without a GPU. To fix this you'd need to buy a GPU. RE: Safe Mode Boot - Believe - 02-19-2013 But surely if the problem was the lack of onboard GFX card, I wouldn't be able to see anything in safe mode either. Just spitting the first thing that comes to mind onto this post. May be wrong. RE: Safe Mode Boot - w00t - 02-19-2013 Windows is using the driver for the card you no longer have plugged in. Uninstall the driver, you should be good. |
