Favorite Linux Distributions - Dismas - 08-23-2012

What are your favorite Linux distributions?

My top 5 favorites are:

Arch Linux
"A lightweight and flexible Linux® distribution that tries to Keep It Simple."

BackTrack
"A Linux-based penetration testing arsenal that aids security professionals."

Fedora
"A fast, stable, and powerful operating system for everyday use."

Knoppix
"A compilation of GNU/Linux software, run completely from CD, DVD or flash disk."

Ubuntu
"A system based on Debian with frequent, regular releases and a consistent desktop interface."

Yeah - it hasn't been consistent since they got rid of Gnome.

I've always been a big fan of Ubuntu.

Same here! They're always updating it, and it has an awesome background. (yes, I like it for the background. #dealwithit)

I loved Ubuntu when it was 10.0. It was nice and simple, and did what I wanted it to. They've overcluttered it now with a social bar at the side. It's a good operating system, but I don't use it now due to all the overcluttered menu's etc. It's becoming like Windows. Tongue

I like ubuntu but i don't really use it because you can't use some software with it. But it's useful for other things like accessing someones computer from a flash drive Smile

Crunch bang is perfection.
