I was going through a recent thread and realized people are confused over certain basics . just posted this to get to a wider section , to clear their doubts.
The points I have mentioned are basic lifestyle changes that'll help you be better.

Ok Here are some points that if you follow will help you. I'vent given a tut about the obvious technical stuff .. There are plenty of those ... and those things toh you'll have to learn .. But the following are certain secrets learnt through experience :

• Read lots lots lots and lots more books..
  
  
  
  
• Keep programming .... re programming ... and again re programming...
  
  
  
  
• Improve English and math skills{really helps with algorithms ... }
  
  
  
  
• Find an activity which interests you ..give it time .. develop it as a hobby...You'lll need breaks ... [The back ache's from sitting in front of the screen for 18 hours at a stretch .....they suck..]
  
  
  
  
• Again read..
  
  
  
  
• Make useful connections ... New ..intelligent and trustworthy friends always help..
  
  
  
  
• Never underestimate or overestimate anyone.. even yourself..
  
  
  
  
• The basic programming languages you should know...
  
  
  
  
• Prove yourself to be trustworthy ... You can learn more from friends than books ..
  
  
  
• Always be ready for surprises [usually the black hat's are one step ahead of the white hats... ]
  
  
  
  
• Think ... never stop thinking ... While programming ... while sleeping .. while pooping .. while effing your gf... Keep thinking ... It helps ..

White Hat Hackers:headbash: : They are the real "hackers " or more specifically ethical Hackers.
They work within the legal systems . And contradictory to popular beliefs are not the bad guys . Rather they help against "The bad guys ".
They work testing systems, networks , websites ...etc trying to hack into it by pre determined force by their employer. to simulate a real attack so as to protect us.
This is actually a great career path one may choose .:ok:


Black Hat Hackers :lol::
Actually they aren't worth being called "hackers ". More correctly they are "crackers" . These people penetrate their chosen target for the sole purpose of the unlawful entry . They may monetize their works by gaining sensitive data.. etc
They are a rising menace to the society and a drain to the public resources. Though I'm not saying this carreer is bad. Just depends on what morale your mama thought you :tongue:.

Grey Hat Hackers :dance::dance::
They are people [Like Me] who are neither of the above but both at the same time . We work based on our whims. We usuallu do not look towards cracking for financial gains as we are already making loads through legitimate sources [I am a pro web designer and SEO] .
When we do get cracking Its usually to prove a point..take up a challenge ...or personal rivalry.. :wacko::wacko:
