Malwarebytes shows its a virus. but no other does? - ♠J0K3R♠ - 06-21-2011 Hello. My malwarebytes suddently shows a files named czStubEC.exe as virus it is a part of my Handybits easycrypto. crypting program. Is it a virus? i scanned 2 days ago and it didnt show but.? ive scanned on virustotal also. it says no detection??... kinda worried cuz its my crypting program ![]() ![]() Regards Weezy Edit: Did a resource hack and scanned those. none of em shows as virus then?? ![]() RE: Malwarebytes shows its a virus. but no other does? - 1llusion - 06-21-2011 if its a crypting program, then it will naturally show up as a virus once, since it helps viruses be UD (undetectable). There is some amount of risk, that the stub is infected, and its difficult to find it out since the crypter itself is malware. Really depends if you trust the maker or not... but its not weird that stub gets detected RE: Malwarebytes shows its a virus. but no other does? - ♠J0K3R♠ - 06-21-2011 (06-21-2011, 08:47 PM)1llusion Wrote: if its a crypting program, then it will naturally show up as a virus once, since it helps viruses be UD (undetectable). If not, then it is a virus RE: Malwarebytes shows its a virus. but no other does? - ♠J0K3R♠ - 06-22-2011 (06-21-2011, 10:31 PM)1llusion Wrote: look, is it a crypter for some malware? if yes, then your possibly safe. If not, then it is a virus ah i didnt say it right.. its a encrypting program:S(soz) for putting passwords and encryption on files Edit: malwarebytes got another update and it doesnt show as virus anymore. Regards RE: Malwarebytes shows its a virus. but no other does? - 1llusion - 06-22-2011 oh, then it shouldn't show up as malware... It could be a possible false positive if it doesn't show up anymore... I would scan it again on virustotal and see if anything changed, then go to: http://anubis.iseclab.org/ and scan it there too. Thanks for the help RE: Malwarebytes shows its a virus. but no other does? - 3r3bus - 07-05-2011 To my understanding, no this isn't a virus. Although if you doubt my judgment, Delete it immediately RE: Malwarebytes shows its a virus. but no other does? - ♠J0K3R♠ - 07-05-2011 Old thread. Ive kept it. |
