RE: Need some help with monitor size - 1llusion - 06-12-2011

so, first of all, plug-in the monitor Tongue

try this: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1324239&highlight=resolution

or google with: Ubuntu Lucid
because 'Ubuntu Lucid 10.04' is the base for BT5

good luck!!! When you have enough of Lucid bugs, switch to Natty like I did Tongue

123hotmaste..... yeah.. ubuntu 10.04 recognizes my same monitor but bt5 doesnt... i guess i can help you.. it worked for my desktop.
there is xorg.conf file.. not in /etc/X11 but in /usr/share/xresprobe/xorg.conf change all the resolutions in that file to your desired resolution and restart X (mine was 1280x1024 and it worked perfectly.. but my friend's wide screen didnt work.).
hope that helps you. if it doesnt then there is another one way...... but its not suitable as it changes the resolution only for one boot (for me).
