Kids on the Slope - Quick Review - Equinox - 11-20-2014 Since this is a quick review, I can't be lengthy. This will also be the first official Otaku review since the blackout, so, here goes nothing. Kids on the Slope, or if you're familiar with the Japanese version, Sakamichi no Apollon, is an anime in which a smart rich kid moves into a town with a variety of people. He loves classic piano, and finds himself meeting his best friend because of it. This results in him meeting a girl whom he loves very much. Without spoiling to much, this anime is absolutely thrilling. In a review, you tell the strong and weak points of whatever you review, but with this anime, I am really trying my hardest to find something wrong with it. You eventually even come to love the characters so much to the point that when a major plot twist occurs, you just feel like crying with the characters, as if you're actually in the anime. One thing that may turn you off, however, is the jazz music throughout the anime, if you're not used to it. This anime has a beautiful sound track, gorgeous plot all together, though it may not seem like it at first glance, and good character development as well. In these modern times, you really scour for an anime that is worth while, and it's not always worth the time. Would I recommend this anime? Absolutely. There are very few things that may seem like you wouldn't like the anime, one of these factors being the jazz music, but the music is also part of what makes this anime it. You can't really watch and hate the anime because of the music alone, or any other aspect of it, and because of this you end up enjoying it. What would I rate this? 9/10. This is definitely one of the better animes out there, and if you're looking for something good, I would definitely tell you to watch this. You might as well put whatever anime you are planning on watching next in the "Rainy day list", because chances are it doesn't compare, unless you are comparing this to other really good anime. Audio - 10/10 Plot - 7/10 Visuals - 8/10 Final - 9/10 RE: Kids on the Slope - Quick Review - Losi - 11-21-2014 Well it's a rainy day, actually currently pouring buckets in California, so I'll watch a few episodes. Thanks for the recommendation. |
