Windows 3.1 Download? - ShawnReynolds - 11-19-2014 Is it possible to download Windows 3.1 and use it in a virtual drive? I know this is a very old OS, but I am a collector, and have been wanting to try it for a long time. Thanks, Shawn PS: I strongly apologize for my low quality posts, but I cannot think of much to say, so I am not able to make my posts high quality most of the time. RE: Windows 3.1 Download? - Cressi - 11-19-2014 If you're into old, discontinued software; I'd suggest you bookmark abandonia.com; which hosts downloadable copies of loads of various old programs ^^ Giving it a go; I found a DosBox version (Link), which has the OS, along with some nice drivers and other useful stuff (along side, of course, with a helpful forum). It runs off DosBox, but I'm not even doubting a collector knows what to do with that ![]() Hope it helped ^.^ RE: Windows 3.1 Download? - ShawnReynolds - 11-19-2014 (11-19-2014, 08:04 AM)Cressi Wrote: If you're into old, discontinued software; I'd suggest you bookmark abandonia.com; which hosts downloadable copies of loads of various old programs ^^ I use that site a lot actually, though I did not think they did operating systems. Thanks, and yes I know how to use DosBox, I use it all the time to play Doom and Elder Scrolls :). I have not liked any Windows OS since XP and Vista. I opened DosBox, but when I try to change the directory so that I can access Windows 3, it says that the directory does not exist. Hmm, try to move the files to a new folder, and make sure it's not located in a locked or hidden directory ^^ RE: Windows 3.1 Download? - ShawnReynolds - 11-19-2014 (11-19-2014, 09:30 PM)Cressi Wrote: Hmm, try to move the files to a new folder, and make sure it's not located in a locked or hidden directory ^^ I got it to work! Thank you so much! It was because the folder name had a space in it. I tried this OS, and I love it so much! I will definitely be using this from now on, except for the internet! XD!
