A Pennsylvania teenager is facing criminal charges after posting pictures to Facebook of him simulating a sex act with a statue of Jesus.
The young man posted that he took the pictures in late July at the statue of a kneeling Jesus in front of the “Love in the Name of Christ” Christian organization in his hometown of Everett.
The criminal charge, which will be heard in family court, consists of “Desecration of a Venerated Object.”
Pennsylvania law defines desecration as “Defacing, damaging, polluting or otherwise, physically mistreating in a way that the actor knows will outrage the sensibilities of persons likely to observe or discover the action.”
The teen, whose name has not been released, could face up to two years in a juvenile jail if convicted.On the kid's part, that was a really moronic idea. Freedom of speech is one thing, being an imbecile is another. He shouldn't get 2 years in prison for that, although he should certainly receive some sort of a slap on the wrist. They probably should have picked a different charge.

I don't buy into religion or any sort of thing like that but growing up and maturing a bit ou learn you have to sort of become, for lack of better words, tolerant, of what other people believe. I would never bash something that someone else may base their entire existance off of.
Just plain disrespectful.

The main problem is people can sometimes be disrespectful and intolerant, not necessarily religion's fault.

I agree with you one hundred percent. I respect people no matter what their beliefs are, it's something you have to learn to accept in society.
