Is Bleach good? - Nyx - 07-18-2014
I've been watching some Bleach fights on Youtube and I was wondering; is it actually a good anime or is it just another really shitty shonen that somehow got popular? I am thinking about starting but I'm unsure if it worth watching like 300 episodes of something that's shitty.

Its 100% worth it. But its a long ass show, took me 3-4 months to complete. They kept making seasons for a reason. Trust me, its worth it.

There's a lot of filler episodes compared to the actual manga, isn't there?

No Idea, only read the manga. It feels like the characters get "thrown" from fight to fight, or conflict to conflict forcefully, rather than finding their way to the fight/conflict. However, despite that, I would recommend (the manga at least).

Definitely - I always prefer the manga to the anime for almost any series.
In all honesty, I feel like Bleach is basically DBZ with lots of swords. Whether that's a good thing or bad thing, I'll leave it up there.

From my experience, there's lots of different arcs for the animators to wait for the manga to come out. The anime caught up to the manga and had to have multiple arcs for the manga to come out with new chapters.

well... DragonBall was definitely not bad (at least for the most of the manga), so maybe this is a positive thing

That would explain this. Maybe they could do something about the heroes jumping from conflict to conflict, and make the anime have a little bit of a break between fights.

I would recommend it. It's the first anime that I really got into, and it's the reason I watch anime today. I actually ended up getting back into martial arts because of it too, strangely enough. Haha.
It's a good anime. Possibly not the most amazing one out there. It does have a lot of fillers, but they're easy to skip. I loved the characters in Bleach. You may not watch all 300+ eps. But I certainly watched 300 at least and it took that many episodes for me to move on.

Alright everybody, thanks for all your opinions. I think I will end up reading the manga. I need a new long manga to read anyways because I finished about half of Naruto over the weekend :p
