Are you protected?

Just thought i would share this, since 85% of people i speak to tend to be oblivious. So your on your VPN? Run a test to see if you are resolving domain names through your ISPs name-servers. Okay, so to those of you who didn't do your home work; you didn't set your own DNS servers.

To set your own, on Windows:
  • Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections
  • Right click your connection
  • Properties
  • Find IPV4 in the list
  • Click Properties
  • Set DNS Servers

To set on Linux:
  • Edit "/etc/resolv.conf"

Now you are protected, happy Christmas.

Here's some alternative DNS (http://www.opendns.com/): 208.67.222.222 / 208.67.220.220

Very good share, I've noticed a lot of people are just completely ignorant to this and it comes in handy to know about this when you're around idiot skype resolver kids with booters 24/7 (oh boy this community) anyways, good share. I also suggest maybe finding a VPN with DNS Leak protection that users their own secure DNS if you're going that route. Smile
