So, I've been thinking (inb4 that's dangerous don't hurt yourself) about posts and threads and how users interact with such. Right now popular posts dominate the top of the Most Recent Threads list and the Poster gets nothing in return besides maybe a conversation with a troll and maybe some new information. This is where my idea comes in. Every thread has something similar to a like button and after a certain amount of likes they receive X amount of points.
It kinda seems over done so maybe after a certain amount of comments or time at the top of the list they receive some points.
I am very open to suggestions so feel free to fire away!

I think some forums use some sort of "thanking system" for certain posts, is that sort of what you mean?

Kind of. He means that once they reach enough "thanks", they will receive SP.
On another note, I like how he called them "SP points" when points is already in the name.

Oh, in that case, that would be a pretty nice feature. I'd support that - it'd be an easier way for people to thank others without the risk of three word posts or gravedigging.

A lot of forums such as NGU have a thank you button on each post. Its actaully a really nice feature that I 100% support.

I support this addition if it's possible. It would probably definitely have to be custom coded though.
