Programming (Game) -- Points += 1 - Equinox - 06-06-2014

This is a little "game" that I made up when working with PHP, since I mainly do Python programming.

Here are the languages that we will debate about/with;
  • Python
  • PHP
  • Java
  • C (C#, C++, C)
  • Ruby
  • Assembly.

Here is how we play.

One will pose an argument as to why language1 is better than language2. You can compare more than 2 at once, however, no more than 4 because using all would take some fun out of it. One person will say that language1 is better than language2. You have to be able to pose an argument as to why language2 may be better than language1 AND introduce another into it.

DIdn't get that? Here's the basics of it in a more 'user-friendly' format.

Quote:Some person: ASSEMBLY ISH BETTAR THAN RUBIE. IT IS HARDER TO WORK WIFF.
Some other person: RUBIE ISH BETTAR THAN ASSEMBLY BECUZ WYNAUT, BUT JAVA IS BETTAR THAN BOFF BECUZ YOU CAN LURN C EASILY AFTER DOING ET.
Some third user: BUT JAVA ISN'T BETUR THAN ASSEMBLY BECUZ LEGIT. AND PIETHAUN IS BETTER DAN BOFF BECAUSE...

You get the idea. Hopefully I don't need to continue typing like that to get the point across.

Get the point? Great. There will also be a scoreboard, and people vote for who poses a better argument than someone else. Majority wins. If I say C++ is better than Java, and someone else says Java is better than C++, yet the following posts say that I have a better argument, then I win a single point and we move onto the next language.

First person to get to 10 points wins the programming game.

Go go go!

I shall start.

Python, in my opinion, is better than Ruby because Ruby is based off of Python, and even has a nearly identical syntax. It's usages are also nearly matched, and because of this, Python is superior for it's "father figure" over Ruby.

Talking of 'father figures', Perl is most certainly superior to Python (and thus Ruby). For a start it has more history (for anyone who values that) and thus it shouldn't be a surprise that its libraries are more diverse except for graphics-wise use. Perl also has better syntax which is more similar to languages like C than Python and it is also allows more tinkering as it has features of a less lower down language as apposed to Python.

Didn't reread this, if it doesn't make grammatical sense I don't care.
