Anime Tattoos? - Losi - 05-29-2014

I'm thinking of getting 2 tattoos in this coming year, with my parent's permission. If i get good grades next year, i can get them. Here are my ideas: I'm going to get the word "Resolve" tattooed on my forearm (left arm) and get a fairy tail emblem across my right pec, with flames coming off the emblem. I'm going to get the "resolve" tattoo because of my dad, my dad taught me about resolve and how i had a lack of it. "Kid, you need some resolve, and soon" (quote from dad) The fairy tail tattoo is still up in the air, i love fairy tail but... I would like to know your opinions on tattoos, and anime tattoos in this matter.

I really don't think this is a good idea. Tattoos are one thing, because they permanently mark your body as a symbol for something that means, and will always mean, a significant memory, icon or ambition you'll have in life.

With all good faith and respect, I think you'll be regretting this decision about five years from now, and that time span is extremely generous. If you're really still wanting to try it out, do something temporary, like a henna tattoo, and see how you feel about it a while later.

I was having second thoughts about the Fairy Tail emblem @MiS , but the "resolve" one i really want to get. I have a poster on my ceiling that I look at that says "Resolve", that's what wakes me up every morning. Without resolve i would never go to school, never do shit with my life. So getting that tattoo really means something to me.

It's all up to you in the end, but here are some questions to consider.

What will I think when I see this five years down the road? Ten? Twenty?

Will this have the same meaning to me as it did when I was xx years old?

What will my friends think when they see it?

Will this tattoo look aesthetically pleasing on a person of my body type?

Will this influence a person's first impression of me when I meet them? Consequently, will this affect how a job interviewer, my co-workers or my boss will see me?

If you hesitated on any thought during this time, you definitely would want to re-think things through. But if you're still persistent with going on with it, I heavily suggest getting a temporary one first.

That's a good idea @MiS , ill get a custom temporary tattoo and see how it looks. Thanks for the advice and questions to ask myself.

RE: Anime Tattoos? - Oni - 05-29-2014

You know, a tattoo is one thing. I have one, even. But an anime tattoo? Jesus, dude - you'll regret it. I recommend getting something generic, that way you don't regret it. I also think you should wait until you're 18.

RE: Anime Tattoos? - Losi - 05-29-2014

Not to be prying, but what did you get a tattoo of @Oni ? BTW, im not getting that fairy tail tattoo, i asked all my friends (yes i have them) and they said "Your gonna regret it dude". So i took their advice.

I will never get a tattoo...
That is because it's something that's permanent, and something that everyone (in some cases) can see. So, if it's something you're sure is very close to your heart, and you're sure is not a phase (like fairy tail is. believe me) you could get it (like "resolve", you know?) but try getting is somewhere where only you and the people very close to you will be likely to see it, just so you won't end up regretting anything...

I know it's a movie, but don't end up like this dude.

Thanks @cr33pyguy . Lol that anime tattoo was a bad decision, anyways I don't have enough money for a tattoo right now. So ill end up getting one when i'm 18 anyways.

I got the suits of cards (spade, diamond, club, and heart) on my forearm.
