Morality. - Shebang - 03-30-2014

Refer to this before posting: Update #2 (END)

So, as some of you might have seen before, I had made thread asking you guys to help me out with a conversation. Well, I've gotten to the point where I'm pretty sure that my feelings are reciprocated, and as such I was planning on asking her out/to prom. However, yesterday I was informed by one of my friends that one of her long-time friends is planning to do a big "prom-posal" to her, and has supposedly been planning this for a long time.

Now, I'm stuck. As this happened to one of my good friends a few weeks ago, I don't want to ask first, because if it's a yes, I don't want this other guy to have his plans screwed over by me (he's an acquaintance of mine as well, but we don't really see or talk to each other). I don't want to mess up anyone's day, and now I have the potential to. What do I do?

If you think she likes you, ask her out/to prom. Fuck this other guy, why should you be unhappy just so he has a shot.

I really don't mind him, he's a pretty cool guy.

I do want to be happy, but it kind of makes me wish I was never informed. I don't want to possibly be happy by making someone else unhappy.

See, your problem is that you're too nice. Prioritize your own happiness, not other's. You're the main character of your own life, watching some guy "you don't mind" be happy won't make you happy.

You do make a fair point. Maybe I just consider that an option since I've usually ended up making that choice in the past.

Ask her out on a 'date'. But really informally. Walk around or a while talking, then try to get to a point where you're both sitting or laying down looking at something and just talking. Then say "You're a really beautiful girl, so I know you've probably been asked to prom already, or most likely will. But I really like you, and I hope to see you at prom." Analyse how she reacts, if she smiles and looks at you when you call her beautiful, good start. If she keeps looking at you when you bring up other people and prom, it's going well. Then if she's still smiling and looking at you, and appears to be thinking by the time you've finished talking, then ask her.

I'm getting a panic attack just thinking about that, but I might be able to give it a shot Tongue

Go psycopath style. Don't let anyone else get between you and her. That's my advice.

Psychopath style seems like an odd way to put it Wink2

Actually, it describes it perfectly.
