If you have a chance to revisit your childhood, what will it be? - pandandesign - 02-23-2014

I have a lot of my childhood stories, and most of them were quite silly. I remember I used to play hide-and-seek with my friends when I was little. There were probably about 6 people and we divided into two teams, one would find the other team while the other team does the hiding. We would switch over for a few hours or so, so we would make the team fair. I remember my teammates and I used to hide into a building where we sat at the stairs and got yelled at by one of the households. I would look through the hole that each stair had because it was meant for water to drain out when it rained. I had a blast because we would play hide-and-seek almost every day when I didn't have school. If you have a chance to revisit your childhood, what will it be?

I wouldn't revisit it pleasure, but in hopes of fixing something that occurred. One summer, me and 4 of my friends (we were all 8) went to my friends cabin for a week. We had a blast and all, went swimming, fishing, and enjoyed campfires. However, on our second last day there we decided to hit up the beach 1 last time. Stupidly we decided to do some crazy dares in the water, which resulted in one of my friends drowning and eventually dying. This event has changed me ever since that day and I can still picture his last minutes in my brain.

:cry:I have a lot of fond memories from my childhood, but I have one regret from my childhood that I would like to be able to do something about. I was in the first grade in 1951/52. I moved a lot because of my father being in the military, but I spent part of the year in Topeka, Kansas. There was a boy in my class who today would be in a special ed class, but then he was just the dumb kid we all made fun of. I remember teasing and insulting him one day. I felt bad about it that day, and I still feel bad about it. I wish I could see him and apologize.

If I could revisit my childhood, I would go back to just being a little girl with so much childlike imagination. In my room I could be anybody and be anywhere. I would watch an Indian Jones movie and imagine myself in those caves looking for treasure and adventure. I was also very spoiled! I had barbie dolls, barbie houses, barbie cars, barbie outfits, Ken dolls, cabbage patch, Waldo doll, strollers, a whole kitchen set with the frig, stove, food, silverware, and sink, a McDonald set, power wheels, and more. I was the youngest, so I was very spoiled. I believe in Santa, Easter Bunny, and the tooth fairy. I was just a normal little girl enjoying myself. So I would like to just go back to those moments! It's important to have a childhood, and I know family members who never had one and it's sad. I would want my children to have that whole experience and believe in who ever they want to believe because that's wants being a child is all about. You only become a child once in your life, then you hit teens and adulthood where you have to worry and work hard all the time.

I think I would be happy just doing something simple, like falling asleep on the couch and having my father carry me to my bed. Just one last time.
