What is it like being the only child? - pandandesign - 02-18-2014 Being the only child is the worst you can imagine not to mention you have the whole world in your room. I am the only child in the family, and I sometimes feel quite lonely because there are times I want to talk with someone besides my friends or parents. Well, since I don't have any brothers or sisters, I have everything myself. What is it like being the only child? RE: What is it like being the only child? - TPhoenix - 02-18-2014 Wow, this makes me revisit a time in my youth where I had a lot of fun, but also when I was lonely. I mean for over 11 years since I was born, it was just my Mom and I living together. I'd have my cousins come over once in awhile on the weekends or I'd go to their house and we would be gaming on either Super Nintendo, Playstation or Sega Genesis depending on the household and the consoles available. But I remember always telling my mom that while my cousins had each other their age to play with at their house, I only had myself in my own, even though my mom did do her best to bridge that gap. There were some upsides though, being that you get spoiled and all the attention is placed on you. Luckily after, my younger sister was born back then, I had new company. The attention did shift and I did get a little jealous, but I dismissed it because I was more happy I finally had a sibling.
