Interesting .. [Port Forwarding] - Emerald - 01-22-2014

So, for those of you who know what port-forwarding is, skip ahead.
And for those that don't:

Port-forwarding, in it's simplest explanation, is allowing applications
to have in-bound and out-bound traffic. An example would be a
Minecraft server, hosted off of a regular PC. For Minecraft people
generally use a port such as 25000, and he only way other players
can connect, however, is if the port is opened.

My error, though, is somewhat different.
My port 1021 used to be open.
Both TCP and UDP.
But, for some reason they are now always closed.

So far I have tried:

1) Getting a Static IP
2) Checking router interference
3) Removing Issues within Windows Firewall (As well as Router FW)
4) Using alternate ports.
5) PC and Router/Modem Hard Re-boots.
6) Auto Portforwarding, etc.

This is not my first time Port-forwarding, but for some reason it is being a bitch.

Thanks to anyone who has input.

If you're using a laptop check to see if your local IP is still the same, you can do this by opening CMD and typing "ipconfig".

I have done this multiple times to check if my IP is remaining to be static. And it is. Still no luck.

Lolwat. Are you talking about a local or external IP? And you know that you need to listen to that port in order to have it actually open, right?

My Local IP. The way my router firewall works is unusual. Instead of portforwarding for a device, it port forwards by local IP. So each time a device joins your network it interferes with every other devices local IP. So for example, say I port-forward for 172.168.16.72 or something. If a new device joins my network, all devices are bumped up one IP. 172.168.16.73 for example. So, I was talking about setting my computer to have a static network ip.

And yes. I know that.

Call your ISP and ask them to port forward for you.
