Hey why not. Sounds like a great idea, but if it fucks up peoples genetics then no. But if people are willing to let scientists fuck around with their DNA and shit all the power to them.

If it works, fantastic. Gene therapy is also being researched for certain cancer treatments as well.

Gene therapy can do a lot more than just this. It has many other applications. Problem is, it isn't simple.
