Is this creepy? - Otaku - 01-16-2014

Starting off, I'm a very shy guy. I don't normally speak to girls considering I either, 1.)Get nervous 2.) don't say anything when in a group of friends. Anyways, there's a girl I like. Everyone has a crush, right? Well, I never usually talk to my crushes due to low self-esteem as well as the two things I stated above. So, considering I've never talked to this girl, I really want to get her something for Valentine's day. Candy, flowers, anything to be honest. I don't really plan on talking to her even on Valentine's day. Possibly have someone else do it for me.. Is this weird at all?

Also, there's no way I can get over the fear of talking to girls. I simply just can't. I haven't really had interest in a girl since around 7th grade, which was when I asked out a girl for my first time. 'Course I got denied, and I'm always scared of rejection even if it's a simple conversation.

If a girl rejects you just remember that she's missing out.

I'm not the most attractive looking guy. I know that for a fact. I understand why I get rejected and I don't blame anyone. <_ <

Personality matters way more than looks. Those girls will be missing out on your personality.

What's exciting about a shy person? : P

You would be surprised how many that are attracted to shy guys. ( For some reason, shy girls tend to be rather un-attractive ) So it may actually prove to be rather helpful for you. Unto the point where you said that you didn't blame anyone for rejecting you because your looks. That honestly shouldn't be something that you should be thinking. Personality is worth so much more, and if a person turns you down because of looks, then they were obviously not worth your time.

Now, over to your question(s).

I would say that giving a girl something at Valentine's Day is rather, strange. ( Though that is mainly because people never make a big fuss about that day where I live ) Though it would most likely be looked at as sweet by many people around the world. Though I would recommend you give it to her yourself, even though your shy. ( And if something actually happens between you two, tell her that you are a shy person. But don't just sprout it out )

Shy people are usually awesome.
If you think you could manage, buy her a rose, give it to her and say happy valentines day.
See what happens from there.

Another thing, I have always preferred shy people. They tend to have more interesting ideas and they seem to care a great deal about others. ( Compare to most people in our era )
