Careers advice - there's plenty of information out there.. - Mod Mark - 12-28-2013 but what is the most useful piece of careers advice you've ever been given? RE: Careers advice - there's plenty of info out there.. - BeastlyHobos - 12-28-2013 If you decide not to pursue a career at this time in your life dont be afraid to go back to school even if you older. RE: Careers advice - there's plenty of information out there.. - Nefarious - 12-28-2013 Not exactly career advice, but advice for an interview. "Make the interview last longer than ten minutes, it will improve your odds" From my experience that's true. RE: Careers advice - there's plenty of information out there.. - Singularity - 12-28-2013 Find out what you like doing and what you are good at. Practice and stay positive. You will find the opportunity. RE: Careers advice - there's plenty of information out there.. - Fallen - 01-01-2014 Learn to love what you hate. RE: Careers advice - there's plenty of information out there.. - wander_n_wonder - 01-03-2014 When I was a fresh graduate, my parents always told me that it's not the job per se that you need to look at, it's the experience that you gain. AT that time, I took whatever opportunity came my way. And now 15 years later, I realize my parents had been correct. This mindset has kept me from being rude to customers and also co-workers. I always think, 'what if were me? What would I like to happen?' That's important to keep in mind because I tend to lose my temper at idiots who fuck up my order. RE: Careers advice - there's plenty of information out there.. - andre-nunes - 01-03-2014 "Follow your passion"? Not sure about that... but I think I would rather be doing something I love and earning less than being miserable winning tons of cash. RE: Careers advice - there's plenty of information out there.. - Wonder - 01-06-2014 If you love your job you never work a day in your life. Just do what you love, in the end happiness is more important than money. If it doesn't feel right then don't stick with it, just make sure that you always have something lined up. |
