Thoughts On Beyonce Dropping Album Without Marketing - Charli - 12-15-2013
Of course, one of the most talked about music news over the weekend is Beyonce and her new album. In case you didn't know, Bey dropped her latest album -- complete with visuals, on this past Thursday; oh... and right after ABC's Scandal.
Seems to me that her team knew social media would be swarming with people during that time. So why not drop a completely unexpected album and let them do all the marketing?
Smart girl.

Honestly that is the most reckless thing I've seen her(and her marketing team) do. I would've expected them to air commercials for ages until it came out, not drop it on people like a atomic bomb! I hope that the suddenness of her album coming out makes the sales rise.

Exactly the point! No one knew that she'd be dropping an album. We found out after it dropped on iTunes. Everyone basically did the marketing for her. VERY SMART!

Maybe it was some sort of trial and error/research strategy to see if it would do well in their favor. I think it was a pretty great effort. Although no commercials or ads prior to the drop, everyone marketed for her in the end and it still sold really well!

I don't really have an opinion, but I guess we will see if it works. I personally don't like Beyonce as a person. I think she is rude and has an attitude problem. Her music is good though.

If you ask me the main reason that it has had so many sales is because of the hype its gotten WHILE being out for buyers to, well, buy.

What do you guys mean by Beyonce "dropping a album" Did she release out of the blue? I am not a Beyonce fan, but I like a few of her songs, she seems to be snobby in real life though.
