Unreal Engine 4 - Uzinero - 03-20-2014 Source: http://www.pcgamer.com/2014/03/19/unreal-engine-4-tools-and-source-code-now-available-for-19-monthly-subscription/ Code: At a GDC 2014 press briefing today, Epic founder Tim Sweeney announced that Unreal Engine 4 is now available for game development, but not just for big studios. Access to the binary development tools and the UE4 source code is now included in a $19/mo subscription plan. Developers will also pay Epic five percent of any revenue earned from UE4-developed games. What's your opinions on this? I think it sounds absolutely great, though a lot of people are still complaining about the price. Reason it seems so good to me is because me and a few friends have been planning to make a game for a while now, and we've been debating for a while which engine to use too since we're so low on funds, but at $19 a month this would be great for us, not to mention it has full source code access on that subscription, and Epic only takes 5% revenue share for games you publish which were made on the engine. RE: Unreal Engine 4 - Feat - 03-20-2014 It's going to have it's source code leaked in a matter of days if it's released at $19/m as it's basically available to all of the working general public. RE: Unreal Engine 4 - vortex29 - 09-03-2014 it is about time that they release something new on this arena. i am looking forward to the games going to be made with it though RE: Unreal Engine 4 - bluewood32 - 09-03-2014 I am really looking forward to all kinds of games made with this engine, I wonder what are the possiblites. |
